
2014 Pop Top results
This year’s Pop Top Golf Tournament was held at the Beaver River Golf Course in W. Kingston, RI on September 13. It was attended by 22 alumni and colony members and the weather was near perfect. Bill Bowers Sr showed up once again to open up the event and greeted the golfers before they hit the tees. This year’s best ball was very competitive and the scores were very close. All teams finished below par. There was a tie for 1st place between the foursome of Vinny Pratico, John Goodwin, Frank Lee, Pat Clays and the foursome of Andy Marcoux, Chris Cobb, Alan Abbey, Colin Daigle. A tiebreaker was implemented and using hole difficulty, it went down to the 12th most difficult hole when the team of Marcoux, Cobb, Abbey, and Daigle prevailed. There were 2 closest to the pin holes and these were won by Chris Conti and Lance Eskeland. The longest drive went to Colin Daigle, our colony member. An outstanding steak dinner and desert followed the golf tournament and raffle. Special thanks go out to Lance Eskeland for sponsoring our Colony member, all of the alumni who contributed gifts for a great raffle and to the golfers. We hope to see everyone back next year for the 2015 Pop Top Open!
